A/V Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing audio visual services for weekly worship services and special church and/or ministry productions and events requiring audio visual support.

  •  As directed by Pastors and Directors of Ministry, provides technical support to maintain and operate church audio and visual systems to ensure quality A/V services for the congregation, all worship services and/or special events.
  • Consult and advise Pastors and Directors of Ministry on audio and visual technical capabilities to enhance deliverables as well make recommendations for improvements.
  • Oversees the live streaming broadcast quality, recording schedule, content and delivery.
  • Supervises, recruits and trains AV technicians and volunteers to provide AV technical support for weekly worship services, special church or ministry productions and other community functions hosted at the church.
  • Delegates AV technical responsibilities to AV technicians and volunteers to allow them to operate independently based on skill and knowledge capabilities.
  • Utilizes Planning Center software to efficiently schedule A/V Technician and volunteers, and coordinate A/V operations with Music and Worship.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves equipment problems and manages systems maintenance and updates including coordinating with Sound Planning vendor, as required.
  • Assists with budgeting for purchase, maintenance and security of A/V equipment and software.
  • Responsible for purchases of equipment within budget parameters.
  • Manages weekly ProPresenter programming and setup of current events slide show.
  • Conducts weekly A/V preparation, practice and checklist review meeting for each worship and/or special event service, prior to services and events.
  • Oversight of media that is projected out to the community via website, YouTube channel, etc.
  • Prepares and submits periodic status reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Stay up to date on state-of-the-art AV technology relevant for church services and church sponsored events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • The ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, while also remaining calm under pressure.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate team based leadership traits.
  • Experience recruiting, training and supervising a plus.
Requirements:
  • One or two years’ experience working with A/V production systems, preferably in a church environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of audio and video equipment, lighting, filming and sound mixing techniques. Proficiency with Yamaha TF5 Audio Mixing board, ProPresenter graphics projection, Vaddio PTZ camera function and BoxCast web streaming a plus; a willingness to learn additional software programs/systems as necessary.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and technologies.
  • Experience working in classic and contemporary music environment is preferred.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, navigate tight spaces and lift heavy equipment.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with federal, state and local standards, and as expected by Shepherd of the Prairie.
